The 6 best beaches in Tayrona Park: complete 2026 guide

April 10, 2026 · 8 min read · Hotel Jasayma Parque Tayrona

Tayrona has some of the most beautiful beaches in Colombia. All times in this guide are walking from the Cañaveral parking lot, where the trails begin. From Jasayma you reach that lot on the park's internal shuttle, which passes in front of the lodge (paid separately).

The beaches, from nearest to farthest

1. Piscinita Beach (Cañaveral) · 10 min

The first beach from Cañaveral. Calm water in the dry season and corals close to shore: good for snorkeling.

2. Arrecifes Beach · 45 min

Strong waves and one of the prettiest jungle-to-sea paths. Not safe for swimming due to currents, but perfect for photos.

3. Arenilla Beach (Los Naranjos) · 1 h

Small, hidden between rocks and the least visited. You cross a stream to get there. Swim with care.

4. La Piscina · 1 h 15 min

A natural pool protected by rocks, with clear calm water. The safest for swimming and a family favorite.

5. Cabo San Juan del Guía · 2–2.5 h

Tayrona's postcard: a viewpoint over two beaches and a palm grove. You can swim on the big beach. Go early to avoid crowds.

6. Playa del Muerto (Punta Aguja)

The farthest on the route, quiet and for adventurers. Swim only in certain spots.

When to visit the beaches

  • Dry season (December to April): calm sea and dry trail. The best time.
  • Rainy season (May to November): greener scenery, rougher sea.
