Sacred land

For the peoples of the Sierra, this sea is the father and water is the mother

The Kogi, Arhuaco, Wiwa and Kankuamo have cared for this land since long before it was a park. The trail signs remind you: Jalyintana, Father of the sea.

Look after Tayrona during your visit

  • Stay on the marked trails.
  • Take all your trash back with you.
  • Don't feed the animals.
  • No lights on the beach at night: they confuse the turtles.
  • Respect the no-swimming signs.
  • Check the park's closure dates before you travel.
