The best time to visit Tayrona Park
Tayrona is tropical all year (26–34 °C), but the sea, the rain and the crowds change a lot by month.
Dry season (December to April) · the best
- Calm sea, dry trails and clear skies.

Transition (May and June)
- Short afternoon showers begin.
- Fewer tourists and greener scenery.
- The park closes June 1–15.
Mid-year (July and August)
The "veranillo" brings sunny days and school holidays. Turtles start nesting in August.
Rainy season (September to November)
- The park almost to yourself, nature at its best and better prices.
- Rougher sea and frequent afternoon rain. October is the rainiest month.
- The park closes October 19 – November 2.
Our recommendation
For good weather and few people: late November, the first half of December, March (outside Holy Week) and April. For the best sea, December to April. See month-by-month details on Plan your visit and message us for help choosing dates.
